FAQ

Anyone aged 18 or over who meets the PaySmart eligibility requirements can apply. You can apply at any iCentre store across Malta.

To apply for PaySmart, please bring the following:

  • Maltese ID Card (18+) or Maltese Residence Permit
  • If you hold a Maltese Residence Permit: Jobsplus employment history showing at least 5 years of employment in Malta
  • Payslips for the last 3 months of full-time employment
  • Employment contract confirming you have completed your probation period and are on an indefinite contract
  • Credit or debit card issued by a local Maltese bank (digital banks such as Revolut are not accepted)
  • Self-employed applicants: Previous year's income tax return

Additional documents may be requested as part of the application process. 

Most applications are completed in around 15 minutes, subject to document verification.

Yes. Self-employed applicants can apply but will need to provide additional documentation, including the previous year's income tax return.

All applications are assessed and approved by staff through our PaySmart software, subject to their eligibility criteria and credit assessment.

  • Make payments in advance
  • Update your payment card details
